Curiosortsortcmp started as a shared spreadsheet between a technical writer, a researcher and a designer who were tired of "top ten" lists that recommended whichever tool paid the highest commission. Today it is a small independent publication, but the principle has not changed: test the tool, show the evidence, say what we think.
Each category has a fixed task set, from drafting a difficult email to removing an object from a photo. That keeps comparisons fair and repeatable.

Companies cannot buy a position in our rankings. We decline free lifetime licences and disclose any trial access we receive.
